Our Aims and Beliefs....

Our Aims:

  1. So what are our aims? Well, mainly to help you fight back against the Roundheads who are trying to make our lives miserable, overtaxed, continually harassed and persecuted. You no longer have to take the punches. You can fight back now. Other Cavaliers are with you. You are not alone.

  2. To help you to identify yourself as a member of the Laughing Cavaliers with a car sticker so that others can see that you are not a miserable, sour faced Roundhead and so that those who might treat you unjustly think twice first.

  3. We aim to enable you to highlight Roundheads wherever they do harm by giving them publicity on this site. We will encourage the press to watch this site for more examples of overweening authority (with pictures if necessary). We seek to shame the zealots who are grinding us down.

  4. We aim to facilitate polls and  petitions where Cavaliers feel strongly enough about a specific subject in sufficient numbers to make this reasonable.

  5. We aim to give you a forum where you can publicise and discuss with others  what you genuinely believe to be examples of stupid Roundhead behaviour. This could either be from personal experience or reported in a reliable source.

  6. We aim to curb the power of the Roundheads, many of whom we pay anyway through our taxes. They have gone quite far enough.

  7. We aim to do all this with good humour, a reasonable attitude, with truthfulness and accuracy-some of which qualities are frequently lacking with Roundheads. We will not hesitate to criticise bad Roundhead behaviour or actions very forcibly indeed however.

  8. But let Roundheads be aware. Be in no doubt. The Cavaliers have had enough. If you persecute them unjustly, they will identify you and call you to account.

  9. As the Prime Minister said so eloquently when he addressed the General Assembly of Church of Scotland in May 2008: “The Internet is the most powerful weapon for justice ever put in human hands”. He is right and The Laughing Cavaliers intend to use the Internet to expose those Roundheads who are making our lives miserable. Regrettably the Prime Minister himself, well intentioned as he may be by his own lights, may be one of those very Roundheads.
